DIY Mini Terrariums & Green Houses

First I just want to say Thank you to Vila do Artesao for featuring my Driftwood mirror, the one pictured above.

So last weekend we went to a local Flea Market.

It was a lot of fun.  I'm actually signing up to have my own booth at the next one.

For anyone local, that will be @ Idaho Expo March 24-25

While I was at the Flea Market I picked up this cool

Boat Light.

It was a steal at $7

I even love the red paint marks on the top.

One day I will have Jake hang it up for me, probably above my kitchen sink.

But for now I thought I'd turn it into a little plant terrarium, or I guess it's more like a little green house.

You may remember I had already made this 
terrarium below using a large jar. 
They are so simple to make, just place rocks, dirt and a plant into a jar. You could even add moss and little decorative objects if you'd like. They are also great for teaching kids about growing.

I have them both group together with a bunch of other bottle on top of my shelf in my living room.

On my kitchen window sill I have planted some herb seeds into little tea cups. And then to protect them and help them to grow I placed wine glasses on top that act as green house's.

As you can see,  it's working.  I have some cute little starter plants growing.

I found these grass haired monsters for the kids.

They have been a lot of fun.  You first soak the heads in water and then within weeks the grass hair starts to grow.  You can even style the grass hair into pigtails or mohawks.

My boy's are really enjoying taking care of them and watering them often.

I think I will get started on my vegetable seeds for my garden soon.
