Jewelry Box Makeover - In case you missed it.

So awhile back I shared my jewelry box makeover over at Meridian Road.
You can see that post, HERE.

Anyway, I thought I'd also share it on my own blog, for any of you who may have missed it.

I found this old jewelry box in a "free" junk pile that I came across while driving down the road one day.

I painted the box with a coat of white chalk paint, and then stenciled on a red cross.

Then I gave it a good sanding to give it some character.

I love that it resembles an old medicine cabinet.

I have placed my jewelry box on a nightstand in my bedroom.

I love it.

And because I'm just so into this whole Swiss cross look right now,  I thought I'd share a few inspirational pictures that I've come across on Pinterest.

Like I said, I love this look.  I have also added a cross to another place in my home.  I can't wait to share that with ya next time.

  1. We're kindred spirits! I too LOVE Swiss crosses, and have a collection of first aid boxes! I also have a metal cabinet with a red cross on it-get this-right beside my bed (and I haven't seen your post before, I promise-ha!) Great minds... :)

  2. It looks wonderful. From something I would pass up to something I would fight for.

  3. Yup~still love it! That medicine cabinet is pretty great, too.
I was watching a show set in the 1920's last night, and an ambulance drove by in the background. The cross was black with a circle around it! I got way too distracted by that and spent the rest of the show wondering what I could put a black cross on.

  4. Love it! I really like the swiss cross look too... It has inspired thoughts of red in our playroom one day down the road. There's an American Red Cross about half an hour from our house and you would love it. It's an old white house on a green lawn with the red cross of course. I never get tired of looking at it when I drive by. :-)
