Hi! Welcome to my Home Tour.
We just bought a new house in February 2013. You can see the tour here.
I will post more pictures as we get each room finished.
In the mean time, have a look at our previous home.
Jake and I bought this house 6 years ago. It's a modest 3 bedroom, 2 bath house in a good neighborhood. It may not be our Dream home, but it's been a great place to raise our family, as well as a fun project for me to play around with.
The house use to be a light blue color with a darker blue trim.

The Entry
In the entryway I painted the coat closet door blue, then went to town on it with my little hand sander. I hung up a mirror and made the wall hooks using a piece of molding and some inexpensive hooks. The light fixture is from Ikea.
I also have this antique shelf in my Living room / entryway. I tend to re-decorate it often.
A few looks from the past:
The Living Room
The biggest Change we made was to the Fireplace.
I painted it White. You can learn more about it in this post HERE.
In that post is also a log of my ever changing mantle displays.
Here is how the room currently looks.
And here are some looks from the past.
The Kitchen
The Kitchen has had the biggest transformation of our home. Here is what the Kitchen looked like when we first moved in.
Main Bath
DIY shower curtain using a twin size bed sheet and a white bath towel. See tutorial HERE
Here is the main Bathroom Before:
Changes include new paint on walls, ceiling and vanity. New baseboards and floor. The floor is actually laminated wood floor sticker strips, Which I still love. They have held up nicely and really do look like real wood. See more here.
I also added some barn wood to the bathroom mirror.
See more here.

Here are a few looks from the past.
(As you can see, I like to switch the shower curtain up often).
The Bedroom
My bedroom is probably my least favorite room in my home, I say that only because I haven't really done much to it.
One day I plan to paint the walls and all the furniture in it.
{oh who am I kidding, my bedroom is my favorite room since that is where my bed is and I so love to sleep in it}.
(A little trick of mine is to cover the headboard in blankets or fabric. It gives my bed a whole new look).

My Boy's Room
Liam and Jaxon share a room, plus is doubles as a play room. I do my best to keep it organized.

Emily...I just read your post on City Farmhouse and am so glad to have made it over to visit your blog. The photos of your home are really wonderful and what you have done with a modest home is an inspiration to all. Along with that I've been putting off making my own Chalk Paint ( I use ASCP alot)...you've also inspired me to take that next step and mix up my own.
ReplyDeleteWhen you have a moment, I invite you to visit my blog at denisecerro.blogspot.com and see what I'm up to. I'm pretty new at blogging...so was also inspired by your pages.
